Originally from the East coast, I managed to work my way west after a four year stint in the military and now reside in Sonoma County California.

I have been writing songs since the day my parents bought me my first guitar at age fifteen. My mother Rosalie was an incredible organist, my father Richard was always singing Sinatra and my brother Dave continually introducing me to the latest artists so music was in my blood and in the air from day one!

Like many songwriters I jumped from band to band as well as trying my hand at a few solo albums. I had the opportunity to record at Mike Stone’s 1238 Studio in Franklin Tennessee as well as Grammy award winning Prairie Sun Studio’s in Sonoma County California.

I fully amerced myself in organizations such as NSAI to hone my craft, won multiple song contests received mentoring from Bonnie Hayes, Chris Montan, Jon Ims, and along the way played some very cool venues such as the Bluebird Café, opening acts, artist on Hollywood Records ultimately signing as a songwriter with Wes Mayers/Redline Entertainment and later with Matt Lindsey Music.

I have co-written songs with Buddy Owens, Jon Ims, Joe Label, Craig Morris, Joe Hunter, Sam Hunter, Erica Stone, Erinn Sherlock, Ronny Criss, Pat Jordan (Pat Jordan Band), Holly Tong, Wayne Parker, Keri Oskar and the late Lorna Flowers.

I recently co-wrote a song with Joe Label entitled “Everything” in an effort to raise money for the victims of the California wildfires. “Everything” was picked up by Transcendence Theatre (TTC) “Stairway to Paradise” performances sung by Meggie Cansler, Leslie McDonal and Libby Servais at Jack London State park (Joe and I collaborated on this special TTC version with Daniel Weidlein). Additionally “Everything” was included in the Brad Paisley/Bonnie Hunt “Thicker Than Smoke” concert (performed by Meggie Cansler and Gary Vogensen) at the Green Center Concert Hall in Sonoma County California.

I have had many inspirations for my writing however none greater than my mother, brother, my beautiful wife Jahn and my girls Jennifer, Jordin and Jaime.

When it comes to writing songs (for me) the topics need to be real and meaningful. It just takes a good line/idea/feeling/reason a guitar, pencil and a few pieces of paper and a pot of coffee!!!

"Recently I was introduced to BackporcH acoustic guitars and find that the sound/tone and playability of these guitars is excellent.

To me this translates to heightened inspiration when writing songs!

I am presently playing a BackporcH Red Cedar top with Rosewood back and sides (Dred model) - the sound on this guitar is extremely balanced, warm yet pleasingly bright.

I also have a BackporcH (Ebony finish) - Engelmann Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides beautifully trimmed with Mahogany binding (Jumbo model) - this may be the best looking guitar I have ever laid eyes on."
